Kristy Douglas - Owner / Head Trainer
Kristy grew up on a property in country NSW, where working Kelpies helped manage sheep and cattle. From an early age, she developed a strong connection with animals.
Fifteen years ago, Kristy moved to the Sunshine Coast with her husband, where they’ve raised two boys who’ve grown up alongside dogs and helped out in puppy school and group classes for the past three years.
Certified as a trainer five years ago, Kristy is passionate about continuous learning, regularly attending seminars to deepen her understanding of canine behaviour. She currently shares her life with two dogs—Kuba, an American Staffordshire Terrier she adopted and worked through reactivity with, and Nitro, a lively young Staffordshire Bull Terrier.
Kristy loves working with people just as much as dogs and is a skilled coach, helping owners build confidence and communicate clearly with their dogs.

Beth McIntyre - Assistant Trainer
Originally from Ireland, Beth is now living on the Sunshine Coast. She has hands-on experience working in a busy doggy daycare in Glasgow, as well as with the UK’s biggest rehoming charity, Dogs Trust. Beth is excited to bring all of this experience into her dog training journey.
She loves seeing the “lightbulb moment” when things click for a dog and is especially passionate about showing how play can be such a powerful part of training.
Beth’s dream dogs are a merle Border Collie and an Irish Red Setter. While she doesn’t have a dog of her own just yet, she is also available for pet and house sitting—helping make your holiday more relaxing knowing your pooch is being spoiled at home.
Kylie Higgins - Assistant Trainer
Kylie began her journey with Easy K9 three years ago when she attended Puppy School with her Staffordshire Bull Terrier, Thor. What started as training her own dog quickly grew into a genuine passion for learning, developing skills, and understanding dogs.
Together, Kylie and Thor have progressed through Puppy School and Levels 1, 2, and 3, building strong engagement, advanced obedience skills, and excellent off-lead reliability. Kylie is a regular on our pack walks (one of her favourite parts of training!) and has explored a variety of dog sports with Thor, including rally, barrel racing, and nose work.
Kylie now assists across Puppy School and our obedience classes, where her calm energy, growing experience, and love for dogs make her a wonderful support for both owners and their dogs.
We absolutely love having Kylie as part of the Easy K9 team and truly value the dedication and positivity she brings to our training community.
